# Inpaint Editor on existing images

Another way to use Avatars is in the "inpaint editor" mode.

Click on one of the images you already generated, and check for the "Fix problem with AI" button on the panel on the left:

<figure><img src="https://3974525984-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJmG3QEtYyE2zaulbItXS%2Fuploads%2F6jjLeFByjakNtATnjtVR%2FCapture%20d&#x27;%C3%A9cran%202024-06-01%20224423.png?alt=media&#x26;token=d313b77c-78a6-4313-bf10-a477cb001bad" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You then access the Inpaint Editor module, allowing you to fix and change your initial creation. (see also [face-fix](https://doc.nzym.io/your-first-steps/face-fix "mention") for example)

<figure><img src="https://3974525984-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJmG3QEtYyE2zaulbItXS%2Fuploads%2FVrmmsOIrDB2j3s0R5fcx%2FCapture%20d&#x27;%C3%A9cran%202024-06-01%20224433.png?alt=media&#x26;token=7adee9e8-2fff-4e9b-93a8-46e70bb442a3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In this situation, Avatar will mostly be used as reference image to faceswap your Avatar on an character in the image.

Start by using the brush to select the zone you want to change.

<figure><img src="https://3974525984-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJmG3QEtYyE2zaulbItXS%2Fuploads%2Fjax6dDHP6c7SzsWTSyaV%2FCapture%20d&#x27;%C3%A9cran%202024-06-01%20224447.png?alt=media&#x26;token=15a623e8-4ae3-4084-8a8e-568c25cf0202" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Then go to the Face Swap section and click on "Avatar"

<figure><img src="https://3974525984-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJmG3QEtYyE2zaulbItXS%2Fuploads%2FDPoO7sUzRcYbRefAGSap%2FCapture%20d&#x27;%C3%A9cran%202024-06-01%20224825.png?alt=media&#x26;token=a7cb025e-54d2-4c87-b5a8-b3902d41ece7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You will be presented with the list of available Avatars. Select the one you want to use.

<figure><img src="https://3974525984-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJmG3QEtYyE2zaulbItXS%2Fuploads%2FzGFC3QBMCOeR339gLgmE%2FCapture%20d&#x27;%C3%A9cran%202024-06-01%20224457.png?alt=media&#x26;token=06637b6d-fc4f-4f5a-b2de-617cc0ef9808" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Another panel opens: these are the reference images behind the Avatar (see also [dreambooth-and-consistency](https://doc.nzym.io/nzym-avatars/creating-a-new-avatar/dreambooth-and-consistency "mention")), select the one you want to use for this specific faceswap: try to find the one with a similar angle than the character on the initial picture and/or select an emotion you would like to get.

<figure><img src="https://3974525984-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJmG3QEtYyE2zaulbItXS%2Fuploads%2F6hB83O1WBRkWl6YSlSHJ%2FCapture%20d&#x27;%C3%A9cran%202024-06-01%20224514.png?alt=media&#x26;token=d22a48ac-cdbe-4b1e-b38c-c47d599110d7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Your Avatar will then appear in the Inpaint Editor panel:

<figure><img src="https://3974525984-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJmG3QEtYyE2zaulbItXS%2Fuploads%2FdUL8ea4olFNMey2nq83A%2FCapture%20d&#x27;%C3%A9cran%202024-06-01%20224526.png?alt=media&#x26;token=6d891355-42b6-4569-871e-abf61281efe7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Do not forget to play with the strength level to adapt the constraints you want to put on the algorithm (see also [ai-creativity-and-hallucinations](https://doc.nzym.io/your-first-steps/ai-creativity-and-hallucinations "mention"))

<figure><img src="https://3974525984-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJmG3QEtYyE2zaulbItXS%2Fuploads%2F05NMhvKGSyQll1v63vLT%2FCapture%20d&#x27;%C3%A9cran%202024-06-01%20224831.png?alt=media&#x26;token=abf6960a-e367-444f-b45a-c6afdd9a49a1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click on the "Inpaint 2 Images" button. The algorithm will make 2 different proposals that you can compare with the original image.

Here is a Proposal after the faceswap:

To be compared with the original image:
